    Connecting Pipe Section
    1983-85 RX-7

    We offer a replacement connecting pipe section for the pipe section located between the primary (monolith) catalytic and muffler unit. The Racing Beat connecting pipe section is produced using mandrel-bent 2″ OD thick-wall stainless steel tubing and utilizes laser-cut stainless-steel flanges. Also included is separate hanger bracket to support the forward end of the connecting pipe. Although the stock rubber hangers can be reused, we strongly suggest replacing old, worn rubber hangers with new hangers to ensure correct chassis alignment of the exhaust system.

    Installation Notes:

    – This connecting pipe is NOT supplied with mounting positions for the stock heat shield. The heat shield cannot retained on this application.

    – This connecting pipe is NOT supplied with a mounting position for the “Exhaust Temperature Sensor” unit. This sensor is used to monitor exhaust temperature and will signal a dash warning light if exhaust temperature exceeds a predetermined limit. This sensor can be eliminated or re-positioned away from the exhaust.

    Exhaust Hanger Support 79-85

    These hangers were used by Mazda on the early 1979-85 RX-7 mufflers as part of a “rubber hanger/metal hanger” combination to secure the muffler to the chassis. While this arrangement was rather bulky and required multiple components, it did however allow for irregularities in the exhaust system fitment and provided excellent vibration dampening.

    We offer this hanger for use as a replacement for a failed or rusted stock unit. Produced from heavy gauge steel and zinc coated for excellent corrosion protection. If you are replacing the rubber hangers on your muffler, now is the time to complete a full upgrade to all new and much better looking metal hangers!

    Three (3) hangers required for each muffler. SOLD INDIVIDUALLY.

    The Racing Beat RX-7 Header is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Power Pulse Presilencer in all 1984-85 RX-7s (12A – Manual Transmission). The combination of this RX-7 exhaust header and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters for use in racing applications, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing.

    This RX-7 header assembly is constructed with .120-inch wall, mandrel-bend, mild steel tubing for increased durability. The engine-to-header flange is laser-cut from .5-inch thick steel plate to ensure positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed.

Both flanges are flame-cut from .4375-inch thick steel plate for positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed.
