Racing Beat’s Road Race Stainless Steel Presilencer for the 1986-92 RX-7 is intended to bolt-up to the dual outlet of the Road Race RX-7 Header. This fully stainless steel presilencer has been especially designed to function with the Road Race header to offer a “true” dual primary exhaust system for the 1986-92 RX-7. The outlet end of this RX-7 presilencer section is intended to bolt-up to the inlet of the Road Race Y-pipe section.
This Presilencer unit is equipped with dual stainless steel 2″ OD tubes, presilencer canister, mounting hangers, and attachment flanges. This unit incorporates the factory hanger positions and comes complete with outlet gasket and (6) mounting bolts/nuts. This unit weighs 24 lbs and is approximately 34″ in length.

Racing Beat offers the complete Full Stainless Steel Road Race RX-7 Exhaust System for the 1989-92 RX-7 (manual transmission). This completely Stainless Steel RX-7 exhaust system is intended for use on RX-7 applications running under the extremes of road racing, drag racing, or any high performance, high RPM application. The Racing Beat Full Stainless Steel RX-7 dual exhaust system has been designed to maximize the exhaust gas scavenging benefits while maintaining reasonable sound level outputs.
NOTE: This exhaust system is not compatible for use on automatic transmission-equipped vehicles due to fitting tolerances with the larger AT bell housing.

1989-92 RX-7 Stainless Steel Road Race Header

Mating to the outlet of the header is the Racing Beat Road Race Presilencer. The straight-through dual presilencer unit offers beneficial sound reducing qualities by trapping a significant level of the harsh rotary exhaust note.Road Race Y-Pipe
The Racing Beat Y-Pipe section routes the exhaust gases exiting the presilencer section to each of the Power Pulse muffler units.Road Race Mufflers (Left and Right Pair)
Sharing the same design technology as our Power Pulse muffler units, the Road/Race mufflers (Left and Right) feature all stainless steel construction for superior durability and appearance. 1986-92 RX-7 Street Exhaust System
The Racing Beat street legal, Power Pulse cat-back RX-7 exhaust system is the perfect replacement for your RX-7 exhaust – a durable assembly offering a real horsepower gain over your stock unit. If you need to retain the emissions status of your RX-7 and keep the sound level to a tolerable level – look no further than this Racing Beat system!The RX-7 exhaust system consists of a Racing Beat Y-pipe and two 2.375″-inch (OD) 304-stainless steel Power Pulse mufflers. The replacement Y-pipe is manufactured using 2.5-inch (OD) tubing, splitting off into a pair of 2-inch (OD) tubes feeding the left and right Power Pulse Muffler canisters.
Careful consideration was given to the correct placement of each muffler canister with regards to the opening in the rear bumper. Racing Beat positioned the muffler canister “under” the rear bumper in order to present a more integrated look. Unlike many aftermarket systems that use a simple universal muffler, the Racing Beat system utilizes a rotary-engine designed muffler that has been specifically designed for the 1986-92 RX-7 application.
Performance tests on a Dyno Jet chassis dyno have shown a 7.3 HP gain over the stock system (stock Turbo II). This bolt-on system uses the stock mounting points for ease of installation. Each system is supplied with all necessary mounting hardware and gaskets.

This rotary exhaust Header/Collector (less outlet flange) is ideal for RX-2, RX-3, RX-4, and COSMO (does not fit rotary pickup) custom exhaust installations. The flame-cut, .5-inch thick engine flange provides positive sealing and alignment. By integrating the collector with the header we reduce the effort and cost in completing the exhaust system. Engine-to-pipe gaskets are not included but are available separately. An Air Control and Check Valve Cover Plate is required when using this header with a stock intake system.
If the stock resonator is eliminated during installation of this unit, we strongly recommend selecting a Power Pulse Presilencer and installing it in place of the resonator to maintain a pleasant noise level and character.
