    Racing Beat Exhaust “Y” Pipe, 86-92 

    The Racing Beat Y-pipe for the 1986-92 RX-7 (All Models) is a perfect replacement for a failing stock component. The Racing Beat Y-pipe is slightly larger in diameter than the stock non-turbo Y-pipe, and matches the diameter (2.5″ OD) of the stock TURBO II Y-pipe. Therefore, if you are replacing the muffler(s) on a TURBO II application, and unless the original stock Y-pipe is failing, there is no performance benefit to be gained from the addition of this Y-pipe. This Y-pipe includes the Cat-to-Y-pipe gasket. If needed, the Y-pipe outlet gaskets can be purchased separately. Manufactured by Racing Beat using heavy-walled steel tubing and laser cut flanges then finished with a chrome-plated surface coating for excellent durability.

    Replacement Rubber Exhaust Hangers
    We recommend the replacement of the original rubber exhaust hangers during the installation of any new exhaust component. It is our experience that over time the original rubber hangers can deteriorate, crack, and fail; which can result in the incorrect alignment of the exhaust system.

    EXHAUST 93-95 STAINLESS STEEL 3″ CENTER PIPE

    Pipes are mandrel bent 3″ 304 stainless steel, flanges are mild steel. Suppied with hardware, but gaskets are NOT supplied — uses stock gaskets. Downpipe uses one original stud, and is supplied with 3 new allen head stainless bolts. Nuts and bolts for the center pipe are also stainless.

    Downpipe replaces the original front monolythic converter, and the center pipe replaces the original main converter.

    1993-95 RX-7 Race Pipe*

    The Racing Beat Race Pipe is intended to replace the mid-pipe (primary catalytic converter) section on the 1993-95 RX-7. This Race Pipe is produced in-house by Racing Beat and features a 3″ OD stainless steel presilencer unit, 3″ OD stainless steel tubing, and cast 304 stainless steel flanges.

    The Racing Beat RX-7 Race Pipe includes replacement gasket and mounting hardware. An optional replacement rubber hanger is available if needed.

    For racing applications we suggest the removal of the emissions control air pump, which is no longer required after the installation of the Race Pipe. After removal of the pump, you will need to source a shorter replacement drive belt.

    As an alternative to removing the air pump, simply unplug the pump and remove the supply line tubing from the chassis. If desired, a block-off plate can be installed on the pump outlet.

    RX-8 Race Pipe – 2004-2011 RX-8 – Racing Beat offers a full 304-stainless steel catalytic converter replacement pipe for RX-8 racing applications. The weight of this pipe is 10 lbs. This mandrel-bent 3″ OD racing pipe is a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock catalytic converter section. This pipe utilizes a genuine OEM rear mounting flange for a secure fit to the stock (or an aftermarket) exhaust system. (See photo below.) The race pipe is equipped with a sensor fitting for the oxygen sensor. (Note: Placement of the sensor in the pipe will cause the “check engine” light to be illuminated, but performance and engine systems for racing applications will not be affected.) Removal of the OE catalytic converter/presilencer section will result in a noticeably louder exhaust tone.

    Resonated Catalytic Converter Replacement Race Pipe – RX-8 owners have discovered that a installing a non-resonated catalytic converter race pipe on a RX-8 can produce a surprising loud exhaust tone. If your racing application or local track requires a modest, quieter exhaust tone, then the Racing Beat REN.V2 resonated race pipe is the perfect solution.

    Racing Beat offers a 3″ OD fully stainless steel catalytic converter replacement pipe with dual resonators for RX-8 racing applications. Fitted with two (2) rotary-designed resonator units selected specifically for the RX-8 chassis. Each resonator is tightly packed with stainless steel wool for optimum sound supression and tone quality.

    Both our resonated and non-resonated pipe versions are direct bolt-on replacements for the stock catalytic converter section. Racing Beat replacement pipes utilize a genuine Mazda OEM rear mounting flange to ensure a secure fitment to the stock (or an aftermarket) exhaust system.     Racing Beat’s Road Race Extension Tubes are intended to bolt-up to the outlets of the Road Race Y-Pipe section. You WILL need these Extension Tubes if: You will be 1) retaining the stock mufflers, or 2) already have the Racing Beat Power Pulse Mufflers for the 1986-92 RX-7 (non-turbo and turbo muffler versions). It is possible that these extension tubes may be compatible with other aftermarket mufflers, but we cannot confirm fitment or outlet tip positioning with these units. You DO NOT need these Extension Tubes if: You will be replacing the stock mufflers, or any aftermarket muffler, with the Racing Beat Road Race Muffler units

    This Racing Beat RX-7 Header is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Racing Beat Power Pulse Presilencer in all 1981-83 RX-7s. The combination of this RX-7 header and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters for use on racing applications, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing.

    The Racing Beat RX-7 header assembly is constructed with .120-inch wall, mandrel-bend, mild steel tubing for increased durability. The engine-to-header flange is laser-cut from 1/2-inch thick steel plate to ensure positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed.
