Spark Plug Socket Tool, Special Small Diameter
Some (most?) of the “earlier” spark plugs, and some of the “not specifically for Mazda Rotary” racing plugs have a short body, as can be seen in the pictures. With the eyebrow on the rotor housings around the spark plug holes, from 1981 on, normal spark plug sockets are prevented from gripping the spark plug.
The “eyebrow” blocking the spark can be seen in the picture.
This socket is specifically made with a smaller diameter on the end so it can get between the spark plug and the housing.
The tool is fairly thin there so be careful with it — SPARK PLUGS ONLY!
There is NO warranty and no returns on this — We know what will happen – the same thing that happened around here way too many times. We go to use it, it is broken, and NOBODY touched it. The problem is it is the same size (13/16, 21mm) as lug nuts. Somebody tried to take a wheel off!!
Best advice is lock it up after YOU use it!!

3/4″ adapter to use 1/2″ drive. The flywheel nut is put on with over 300 foot-pounds of torque and this adapter CAN BREAK! BE CAREFUL!! (sorry – there is no warranty on it). Better to get a hold of a 3/4″ breaker bar that has a warranty from somebody.
(Just to let you know kind of worst case – We have had a few where we needed to use our 1″, 1200 foot pound, impact gun with our 1″ drive impact 54mm socket!)

These templates are traced from Racing Beat’s own master templates, which are the result of years of research and development. The actual port shapes are traced onto thin sheets of aluminum which you must first cut out, testing your ability to use a die grinder effectively before attempting to port an expensive engine component. The finished Racing Beat porting template is held in place and the porting shape is then traced onto each housing. You must then use your own judgment to develop the port shape within and beyond the scribed line.
