Racing Beat’s Road Race Extension Tubes are intended to bolt-up to the outlets of the Road Race Y-Pipe section. You WILL need these Extension Tubes if: You will be 1) retaining the stock mufflers, or 2) already have the Racing Beat Power Pulse Mufflers for the 1986-92 RX-7 (non-turbo and turbo muffler versions). It is possible that these extension tubes may be compatible with other aftermarket mufflers, but we cannot confirm fitment or outlet tip positioning with these units. You DO NOT need these Extension Tubes if: You will be replacing the stock mufflers, or any aftermarket muffler, with the Racing Beat Road Race Muffler units

The REV TII High Performance RX-7 Exhaust is legendary with FC3S owners. This RX-7 exhaust system includes a 3-inch OD REV TII Down Pipe from the turbo outlet that mates to a REV TII Presilencer section. The outlet of the presilencer connects to the inlet of the REV TII Y-Pipe which routes the exhaust gases down two 2.375-inch OD (60mm) pipes into a pair of left and right REV TII Power Pulse Mufflers. Once installed, this bolt-on exhaust system increases horsepower approximately 32% – that’s a 59 HP increase on a 1987 Turbo II RX-7!
The REV TII High Performance RX-7 Exhaust system reduces exhaust gas back-pressure significantly, thereby allowing the un-assisted turbo boost pressure to increase to 10-11 psi. (Note: A fuel cut controller device is required to prevent fuel cutoff to the rear rotor above the factory pre-set limit.)
This bolt-on system uses the stock mounting points for ease of installation. Each system is supplied with all necessary mounting hardware and gaskets. (The kit does not include turbo outlet gasket, if needed it can be ordered separately.) The down pipe section is provided with a position for the oxygen sensor.

These Power Pulse Mufflers for the RX-7 have been installed on 1000’s of RX-7’s over the years, and their popularity continues strong today! Each muffler canister is manufactured using 304- stainless steel and features a 2.375″ OD inlet tube diameter and a straight-through design for maximum performance gains. Finished with a 3″ OD polished 304 stainless steel tip, these mufflers sound as good as they look! This bolt-on muffler is easily installed and comes complete with a mounting gasket, and can be ordered separately or with the Right Muffler. This muffler will bolt directly to the stock Y-pipe or the Racing Beat Y-pipe.
This beautiful muffler is constructed with a 304 stainless steel shell, polished to a mirror-like finish; a completely stainless steel internal assembly; and layers of durable stainless steel and ceramic wools. The choice of 304 stainless steel offers reduced weight and increases corrosion resistance in harsh operating environments. We recommend the replacement of the original rubber RX-7 exhaust hangers during the installation of any new exhaust component. Down Pipe with Presilencer – 1988 RX-7 Convertible Non-Turbo (w/Manual Transmission) – The 1986-92 13B 6-port engines, in stock form with the factory fuel injection, produces similar power gains with either our Header/Presilencer combo or our RX-7 Down Pipe/Presilencer combination. If you have no intentions of installing RB’s Holley intake System (or any other aftermarket carb set-up), we recommend the use of the down pipe/Presilencer combo since it offers a slightly quieter exhaust note, is easier to install and less costly. If you are intending to upgrade the intake or fuel injection system, the Header/Presilencer combo offers the greatest performance potential.
The 1988 RX-7 Convertible (w/ Manual Transmission) Down Pipe/Presilencer combination incorporates a 2.5-inch O.D. Down Pipe and our perforated stainless steel core and stainless steel wool-packed Presilencer to boost power approximately 13% – an 18 horsepower increase on a 1987 RX 7- and maintain a comfortable exhaust noise level during full power driving.
The replacement pipe connects to the factory exhaust manifold, and the presilencer connects to the factory Y-pipe, replacing all catalytic converters and intermediate tubing. (The downpipe cannot be used as a “bolt-up” component to replace just the catalytic converters.)
The Racing Beat presilencer is equipped with an exhaust back-pressure tube for correct operation of the 6-port actuators. Installation of this requires the removal of the air control and check valve and the air pump. This kit includes all necessary mounting hardware, air control & check valve cover plate, and gaskets (1 Back Pressure Pick-up and 3 Replacement Pipe-to-Presilencer gaskets).
