1993-95 RX-7 Race Pipe*
The Racing Beat Race Pipe is intended to replace the mid-pipe (primary catalytic converter) section on the 1993-95 RX-7. This Race Pipe is produced in-house by Racing Beat and features a 3″ OD stainless steel presilencer unit, 3″ OD stainless steel tubing, and cast 304 stainless steel flanges.
The Racing Beat RX-7 Race Pipe includes replacement gasket and mounting hardware. An optional replacement rubber hanger is available if needed.
For racing applications we suggest the removal of the emissions control air pump, which is no longer required after the installation of the Race Pipe. After removal of the pump, you will need to source a shorter replacement drive belt.
As an alternative to removing the air pump, simply unplug the pump and remove the supply line tubing from the chassis. If desired, a block-off plate can be installed on the pump outlet.

Over the years Racing Beat has been amazed at just how many of these systems they’ve sold for the 1993-95 RX-7! Considering the rather small number of 1993-95 RX-7’s that were sold in the US, they thought that certainly the sales of these mufflers would have been rather modest. Man, were they wrong! After selling hundreds and hundreds of these systems it left them thinking as to why their Racing Beat system has proven to be so popular over the years. Comparison with other available systems revealed that other systems featured large exaggerated muffler tips and a louder, more aggressive exhaust tone as compared to the Racing Beat exhuast system. The Racing Beat systems offered for the third-generation RX-7 have featured either an OEM-style Dual Tip or a modestly-sized Single Tip configuration, and a mellow, deep tone. With this classic combination of great looks, great sound, and great performance its no wonder why the Racing Beat system has been at the top of the heap for so long! This Racing Beat RX-7 Header is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Racing Beat Power Pulse Presilencer in all 1981-83 RX-7s. The combination of this RX-7 header and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters for use on racing applications, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing.
The Racing Beat RX-7 header assembly is constructed with .120-inch wall, mandrel-bend, mild steel tubing for increased durability. The engine-to-header flange is laser-cut from 1/2-inch thick steel plate to ensure positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed.

Down Pipe with Presilencer – 1988 RX-7 Convertible Non-Turbo (w/Manual Transmission) – The 1986-92 13B 6-port engines, in stock form with the factory fuel injection, produces similar power gains with either our Header/Presilencer combo or our RX-7 Down Pipe/Presilencer combination. If you have no intentions of installing RB’s Holley intake System (or any other aftermarket carb set-up), we recommend the use of the down pipe/Presilencer combo since it offers a slightly quieter exhaust note, is easier to install and less costly. If you are intending to upgrade the intake or fuel injection system, the Header/Presilencer combo offers the greatest performance potential.
The 1988 RX-7 Convertible (w/ Manual Transmission) Down Pipe/Presilencer combination incorporates a 2.5-inch O.D. Down Pipe and our perforated stainless steel core and stainless steel wool-packed Presilencer to boost power approximately 13% – an 18 horsepower increase on a 1987 RX 7- and maintain a comfortable exhaust noise level during full power driving.
The replacement pipe connects to the factory exhaust manifold, and the presilencer connects to the factory Y-pipe, replacing all catalytic converters and intermediate tubing. (The downpipe cannot be used as a “bolt-up” component to replace just the catalytic converters.)
The Racing Beat presilencer is equipped with an exhaust back-pressure tube for correct operation of the 6-port actuators. Installation of this requires the removal of the air control and check valve and the air pump. This kit includes all necessary mounting hardware, air control & check valve cover plate, and gaskets (1 Back Pressure Pick-up and 3 Replacement Pipe-to-Presilencer gaskets).

EXHAUST HEADER 13B, 74-78 NO FLANGE EXCEPT PICK UP

This rotary exhaust Header/Collector (less outlet flange) is ideal for RX-2, RX-3, RX-4, and COSMO (does not fit rotary pickup) custom exhaust installations. The flame-cut, .5-inch thick engine flange provides positive sealing and alignment. By integrating the collector with the header we reduce the effort and cost in completing the exhaust system. Engine-to-pipe gaskets are not included but are available separately. An Air Control and Check Valve Cover Plate is required when using this header with a stock intake system.
If the stock resonator is eliminated during installation of this unit, we strongly recommend selecting a Power Pulse Presilencer and installing it in place of the resonator to maintain a pleasant noise level and character.
