This will also work in 79-82 cars, but you will have to source a 83-85 differential flange which is discontinued new, or use an 83-85 rear end. Typically, you would swap in an 84-85 rear in a performance application because the axles are bigger and stronger than the 79-83.

For short shifterThis is the lower ring for OUR short shifters for 81-83’s in case you needed it by itself.
Please – this ONLY works on “original” style shift tower extensions that ONLY came in 81-83 RX7 transmissions. These do NOT use the “normal” lower nylon bushing because that “bushing” is PART OF THE TRANSMISSION. When you look down where the lever goes the aluminum is rounded where the lever ball will sit into it.
With all the swapping of transmissions over the years you really might not know if you have an 84+ in your 81-83, or an 81-83 in your 84+.SKU: SHRING-81LOWER -
