We have always preferred NEW control arms however MAZDA has now discontinued the LEFT OEM control arm.
(Right one 49-3100-8871 or 8871-49-310 is still available)

It took a while to finally find the “better” type of ball joint with the splined side — most of the ones we received (even with the splined picture) were smooth sided. We do not believe those will stay in place adequately.

The ball joint presses in and out fairly easily,

You can then also replace the inner bushing with either the OEM one #34-460B-8173 or use the Urethane one (comes as a pair) #11.3101
