The Racing Beat Power Pulse Presilencer for the 1989-92 RX-7 Non-turbo (w/ auto transmission) is designed to be used with our wide selection of RX-7 headers to complete a bolt-on configuration to the Y-pipe section. (Includes both coupe and convertible models.)
This same Power Pulse Presilencer is included as a sub-component with the Catalytic Converter Replacement Pipe/Presilencer assemblies we offer for all 1989-92 RX-7s. Furthermore, these Power Pulse Presilencers are ideal for those individuals wanting to fabricate custom exhaust systems incorporating either long or short primaries.
The Racing Beat Power Pulse Presilencer improves the character of the exhaust noise, dramatically reducing the inherent, obnoxious metallic high frequency noise with virtually no power loss. Constructed using a stainless-steel shell, interior core tube, and high temperature stainless packing wool, the Power Pulse Presilencer features a 2.5″ ID core and measures 20-inches in length with a 4-inch outside diameter. Each end is fitted with 12mm studs. The attachment hanger shown will allow correct fitment onto the exact application listed.

This Down Pipe is available for custom applications in a 1986-91 RX-7 (excluding convertible) non-turbo application. This 2.5-inch down pipe fits either manual or automatic transmission equipped cars and eliminates the catalytic converter sections.
This down pipe bolts to the stock exhaust manifold, but the use of our presilencer (or a suitable replacement) is required to connect this assembly to the Y-pipe section. If you need to retain a catalytic converter in your exhaust system, you may find a suitable unit offered in the aftermarket. Although the replacement of your stock catalytic converters with a single aftermarket unit is technically NOT legal, this approach may suit your emissions needs. We suggest you contact your local emissions testing facility for more information. Gaskets sold separately.

Racing Beat’s rotary exhaust Header/Collector is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Power Pulse Presilencer, in all 1986-92 non-turbo RX-7s. The combination of this Header/Collector and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing. (In this application, the presilencer will bolt-up to the factory Y-pipe.)
The Header/Collector assembly is constructed with .120″ wall, mandrel-bent, mild steel tubing (2″ OD primary, 2.5″ OD secondary) for excellent durability and noise suppression. Both flanges are laser cut from 7/16″ thick steel plate for positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed. This header is equipped with an oxygen sensor fitting.

1986-92 RX-7 Street Exhaust System
The Racing Beat street legal, Power Pulse cat-back RX-7 exhaust system is the perfect replacement for your RX-7 exhaust – a durable assembly offering a real horsepower gain over your stock unit. If you need to retain the emissions status of your RX-7 and keep the sound level to a tolerable level – look no further than this Racing Beat system!The RX-7 exhaust system consists of a Racing Beat Y-pipe and two 2.375″-inch (OD) 304-stainless steel Power Pulse mufflers. The replacement Y-pipe is manufactured using 2.5-inch (OD) tubing, splitting off into a pair of 2-inch (OD) tubes feeding the left and right Power Pulse Muffler canisters.
Careful consideration was given to the correct placement of each muffler canister with regards to the opening in the rear bumper. Racing Beat positioned the muffler canister “under” the rear bumper in order to present a more integrated look. Unlike many aftermarket systems that use a simple universal muffler, the Racing Beat system utilizes a rotary-engine designed muffler that has been specifically designed for the 1986-92 RX-7 application.
Performance tests on a Dyno Jet chassis dyno have shown a 7.3 HP gain over the stock system (stock Turbo II). This bolt-on system uses the stock mounting points for ease of installation. Each system is supplied with all necessary mounting hardware and gaskets.
