Exhaust Down Pipe 86-92 Non-Turbo Coupes 2 1/2″
This Down Pipe is available for custom applications in a 1986-91 RX-7 (excluding convertible) non-turbo application. This 2.5-inch down pipe fits either manual or automatic transmission equipped cars and eliminates the catalytic converter sections.
This down pipe bolts to the stock exhaust manifold, but the use of our presilencer (or a suitable replacement) is required to connect this assembly to the Y-pipe section. If you need to retain a catalytic converter in your exhaust system, you may find a suitable unit offered in the aftermarket. Although the replacement of your stock catalytic converters with a single aftermarket unit is technically NOT legal, this approach may suit your emissions needs. We suggest you contact your local emissions testing facility for more information. Gaskets sold separately.

This Racing Beat RX-7 Header is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Racing Beat Power Pulse Presilencer in all 1981-83 RX-7s. The combination of this RX-7 header and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters for use on racing applications, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing.
The Racing Beat RX-7 header assembly is constructed with .120-inch wall, mandrel-bend, mild steel tubing for increased durability. The engine-to-header flange is laser-cut from 1/2-inch thick steel plate to ensure positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed.

Both flanges are flame-cut from .4375-inch thick steel plate for positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed.

This rotary exhaust Header/Collector (less outlet flange) is ideal for RX-2, RX-3, RX-4, and COSMO (does not fit rotary pickup) custom exhaust installations. The flame-cut, .5-inch thick engine flange provides positive sealing and alignment. By integrating the collector with the header we reduce the effort and cost in completing the exhaust system. Engine-to-pipe gaskets are not included but are available separately. An Air Control and Check Valve Cover Plate is required when using this header with a stock intake system.
If the stock resonator is eliminated during installation of this unit, we strongly recommend selecting a Power Pulse Presilencer and installing it in place of the resonator to maintain a pleasant noise level and character.

Racing Beat’s rotary exhaust Header/Collector is designed for a bolt-on installation, when used with the appropriate Power Pulse Presilencer, in all 1986-92 non-turbo RX-7s. The combination of this Header/Collector and the appropriate presilencer replaces the stock exhaust manifold and all catalytic converters, along with any intermediate pieces of tubing. (In this application, the presilencer will bolt-up to the factory Y-pipe.)
The Header/Collector assembly is constructed with .120″ wall, mandrel-bent, mild steel tubing (2″ OD primary, 2.5″ OD secondary) for excellent durability and noise suppression. Both flanges are laser cut from 7/16″ thick steel plate for positive gas sealing. An outlet gasket is included. An engine-to-header gasket is available separately if needed. This header is equipped with an oxygen sensor fitting.

The Racing Beat RX-8 Header for the Renesis engine is constructed using 100% stainless steel for superior quality, performance and appearance. Our exclusive cast stainless-steel mounting flange has been designed to allow the smooth transition of the exhaust gas flow from the engine to the primary tubing. Incorporated into the flange design are critical emission control air passages that were included on the OEM flange design. These small passages allow air to be pumped into the exhaust ports to aid in more efficient catalytic converter function. While this header is a race component and not emissions legal for street use, our header does not remove any catalytic converters, and is equipped with an oxygen sensor fitting and retains all emissions control functionality.The Racing Beat RX-8 Header utilizes 1.75″ OD, 14 gauge (.083″), mandrel-bent, 304 stainless steel tubing and features an exclusive Racing Beat engine-to-header flange. All required mounting hardware, an outlet gasket, and instructions are included. A engine-to-header gasket is NOT supplied with the kit, but the stock unit can be re-used unless it shows signs or damage, leakage, or extended wear.
As developed and tested on Racing Beat’s engine dyno, the Racing Beat header produced a peak horsepower improvement of over 4 HP.
